DARRIN ROSE on his stand-up comedy tour. This hilarious night of comedy, stories and digs at his dad will take center stage on Friday, April 29th at The Rio Theatre. A familiar face on television, Darrin Rose is one of the stars of the CBC sitcom Mr. D, the host of Match Game on the Comedy Network and is featured on MuchMusic’s Video On Trial. A four-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee, including Best Male Stand-Up in 2011, Oshawa, Ontario native Rose was called “one of the hottest comics in Canada” by GQ Magazine. When not in Toronto or Los Angeles shooting episodes of his numerous television projects, Darrin is on the road performing at comedy clubs and theatres throughout Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. He has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He has twice performed at the Just For Laughs festival, plus the Halifax Comedy Festival, and his one man show “What’s Potpourri?” received four stars at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival in 2010.

Sibling rivalry and his father’s blue-color values and stoic nature are focal points of Rose’s latest show, ‘My Dad’s Other Son’ which he brings to British Columbia with stops in Kamloops, Vancouver and Prince George. “The Show focuses on me struggling as the black sheep of the family to prove my worth as a human being. My father and my brother are straightforward blue-collar kind of guys. My dad has his ideas about being a man and al the entails and basically, I don’t fit in with this idea of how to be a man” Darrin admits.
